Acknowledging How Trauma Shaped You

The weight of the world rests heavy on my shoulders,

A burden I've carried since my earliest days.

The scars of my past, they linger and smolder,

A testament to the trials that paved my ways.

I was but a child when the darkness descended,

Casting a shadow that would never fully fade.

The innocence I once knew was cruelly ended,

As the flames of trauma left their indelible shade.

In the depths of that abyss, I found myself lost,

Grasping for a lifeline, a glimmer of hope.

But the path forward was fraught with a heavy cost,

And I stumbled, uncertain, unsure how to cope.

Yet, through the haze of pain and the fog of despair,

A glimmer of strength began to take hold.

I realized that the scars I bore, though they were there,

Could be the very thing that made me grow bold.

For in the crucible of suffering, I was forged anew,

My spirit tempered by the trials I had faced.

The person I am today, the person I grew to,

Was shaped by the trauma that once left me disgraced.

I learned to embrace the darkness, to walk through the night,

To find the light within, even when all seemed bleak.

The journey was arduous, a constant uphill fight,

But in the end, it was a battle I would not shirk or seek.

The road ahead was long, and the path was not clear,

But I knew that I had to keep moving forward.

Each step I took, each obstacle I learned to revere,

Brought me closer to the person I was meant to be, onward.

The memories of my past, they still haunt me at times,

Whispering tales of the pain I once knew.

But I've learned to listen to the lessons they chime,

And to use them as a guide, to help me see things anew.

For in the depths of my trauma, I found a strength,

A resilience that I never knew I possessed.

I learned to navigate the twists and turns, at length,

And to embrace the scars that once left me so distressed.

Now, as I look back on the journey I've made,

I can see the growth, the transformation, the change.

The person I am today is not the one who once strayed,

But a stronger, wiser soul, no longer strange.

The ballad of my life is one of triumph and woe,

Of darkness and light, of sorrow and joy.

It is a tale that has shaped me, that has helped me to grow,

And I wear the scars of my past with a sense of alloy.

For they are not just marks of pain and despair,

But badges of honor, of resilience and strength.

They remind me of the battles I've fought, the burdens I bear,

And the person I've become, at long last, at length.

So I stand tall, my head held high, my spirit unbroken,

A testament to the power of the human soul.

The trauma that once threatened to leave me forever spoken

Has become the very thing that has helped me to grow whole.

This is my ballad, my story, my journey to tell,

A tale of triumph over the darkest of times.

And though the road ahead may still hold its share of swell,

I know that I am stronger, that I can face what comes, and climb.

For the trauma that shaped me has also set me free,

Unlocking a strength I never knew I possessed.

And as I continue on this path, this destiny,

I know that I am forever changed, forever blessed.
