Woman sitting on rock looking at view

A Poem by Author and Sound Alchemist Julie Jewels Smoot

In this world of chaos and distress,

My body is my sanctuary, my sacred place,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

Through all trials and tests, it does impress,

My body is my home, my saving grace,

In this world of chaos and distress.

In every breath, in every caress,

I feel its power, its loving embrace,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

With every step I take, I do possess

A temple so divine, a beautiful space,

My body is my home, my saving grace.

From head to toe, I do confess,

I feel its wisdom, its eternal grace,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

In every heartbeat, I find solace,

My body is my temple, my sacred base,

In this world of chaos and distress,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

I nourish it with care, with tenderness,

My body is my refuge, my sacred space,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

Each scar, each line, I do not repress,

For they are badges of honor, a trace,

My body is my refuge, my sacred place.

Through every storm, I do not regress,

For I am resilient, full of grace,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

In times of doubt, in times of distress,

I turn to my body, my guiding base,

My body is my refuge, my sacred space,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

I listen to its whispers, its quiet protest,

My body is my compass, my inner sage,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

I honor its needs, I do invest,

In self-care and love, I engage,

My body is my compass, my inner sage.

With each passing day, I am blessed,

To have this body, this sacred page,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address,

My body is my compass, my inner sage.

I stand tall, I do profess,

My body is my truth, my stage,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address

In this world of chaos and distress,

I find peace within, in my inner cage,

My body is my truth, my sage,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

Through every battle, every mess,

I know my body will never age,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

I am grateful for this body, I must confess,

My home, my temple, my beautiful page,

My body is my truth, my sage,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address.

So let us cherish this body, this sacred crest,

For it is our one true heritage,

A vessel of strength, a fortress to address,

My body is my truth, my sage.
